Šai skaudrajā un tai pat laikā humora pilnajā filmā Latvijas vēstures peripetijas savijas ar personīgiem pārdzīvojumiem un stāstiem par ģimenes noslēpumiem, mīlestību un laulību.

Par spīti smagajai un autorei personiski sāpīgajai tēmai, filmā uzdzirkstī arī ironija un humors – tiesa, diezgan melns, kā tas vispār raksturīgi Signes Baumanes rokrakstam. Filmas vizualitāti veido divdimensiju attēls apvienojumā ar telpiskiem foniem, neparasts bija arī filmas finansēšanas modelis – lielu daļu filmas budžeta veidoja sabiedrības līdzdalība, izmantojot tā saukto pūļa finansēšanas platformu – sabiedrības ziedojumus internetā.

 

 

 

Description (english):

A story about five women in the family of the author, including the director Signe herself. The women are struggling with trials of life and depression; some of them lose the fight. In the background of these events are brief but meaningfully told  intricacies of Latvian national history, seen through the personal prism of Signe\'s grandmother, Anna.

In spite of the fact that this is a weighty and personally difficult theme for the author, the film has flashes of irony and black humour, which is typical of Signe Baumane\'s style. The visuality of the film is created by a two-dimensional image combined with three-dimensional backgrounds. The financial model for the film was also unusual – a large part of the budget was funded by the community through an Internet-based crowd-funding platform.
