Abstract (latvian):

Laucienes pagasts atrodas Talsu novada dienvidaustrumu daļā, 11 kilometrus no Talsiem. Lauciene ir bijušais muižas centrs, līdz 1939. gadam saukta par Nurmuižu. Vārds "nurme" lībiski nozīmē "lauki", "tīrums", no tā arī cēlies vārds Lauciene. Cauri pagasta centram ved Rīgas - Slokas - Talsu ceļš
