- "No 2019. gada 4. līdz 6. jūlijam Rīgā norisinājās RIXC Mākslas un zinātnes festivāls “Zaļš / Atmaskots”. Festivāla programmas ietvaros no 2019. gada 5. līdz 6. jūlijam norisinājās konference “Open Fields”. 2019.gadā festivāls norisinājās vērienīgā Eiropas sadarbības projekta “Green Revisited” ietvaros, ar Eiropas Savienības programmas “Radošā Eiropa” atbalstu. Festivāla centrālais notikums bija starptautiskā mediju mākslas izstāde “Zaļš / Atmaskots”, kas norisinājās no 2019. gada 6. jūlija līdz 22. septembrim Latvijas Nacionālajā mākslas muzejā un ko apmeklēja rekordliels apmeklētāju skaits – 20 000 apmeklētāji. Izstādē bija apskatāmi 20 mākslas darbi, kas pievērsās vienai no visparadoksālākajām un plašākajām mūslaiku tēmām, tiecoties atklāt “zaļo” viņpus ierastajiem priekšstatiem. Zaļā krāsa simboliski tiek saistīta ar visu dabisko, tādēļ to bieži izmanto, lai pārmērīgi kompensētu to, ko cilvēce ir zaudējusi. Zaļā ir visantropocentriskākā no visām krāsām, tai piemīt nenoteiktība, ko veido tai vienlaikus piemītošais dabiskums un mākslīgums. Vai mums ir kontrole pār “zaļo”? Neskatoties uz visumā pozitīvajām nozīmēm, arvien biežāk viss zaļais tiek nekritiski fetišizēts un tehnoloģiski romantizēts, tādēļ valda nepieciešamība pēc sistemātiskas biopolitikas, kas kritiski aplūkotu arvien pieaugošās tehnoloģiskās manipulācijas ar dzīvības sistēmām, ekoloģiju un biosfēru kopumā. ""Zaļš / Atmaskots"" izstādes video dokumentācijā apskatāma īsa video dokumentācija (katalogs) ar izstādes mākslas darbiem Latvijas Nacionālajā mākslas muzejā. - "The RIXC Art Science Festival: Un/Green took place in Riga from July 4–6, 2019. The festival featured the Open Fields conference that took place from July 5–6, 2019. In 2019, the festival took place as part of the large European cooperation project: Green Revisited, supported by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. The key event of the festival was the Un/Green international media art exhibition that took place at the Latvian National Art Museum, Riga from July 6 to September 22, 2019 attended by a record number of visitors – 20 000. The exhibition showcased 20 artworks aiming at complicating the pervasively employed notion of “green” and exploring one of the most paradoxical and broadest topics of our times. 'Green’, symbolically associated with the ‘natural’ and employed to hyper-compensate for what humans have lost, will be addressed as the indeed most anthropocentric of all colours, in its inherent ambiguity between alleged naturalness and artificiality. Are we in control of ‘green’? Despite its broadly positive connotations ‘green’ incrementally serves the uncritical desire of fetishistic and techno-romantic naturalization in order to metaphorically hyper-compensate for material systemic biopolitics consisting of the increasing technical manipulation and exploitation of living systems, ecologies, and the biosphere at large. We, as human species, symbolically re-contextualize techno-scientific tools and their related metaphors to offset what we feel we are losing in times marked by the Anthropocene. The video documentation of the Un/Green exhibition contains a short video documentation (catalogue) with the artworks of the exhibition at the Latvian National Museum of Art.
