- Kopš 18. gadsimta beigām Baldone pazīstama kā kūrorts. 1796. gadā Baldonē tiek ierīkota sēravota dziednīca. Kūrorta nozīme gan mazinājās pēc Ķemeru kūrorta atklāšanas 1838. gadā. Padomju Latvijas laikos Baldones kūrorts bija ļoti populāra atpūtas un ārsniecības vieta visā Padomju Savienībā. Baldones kūrorts tiek uzskatīts par vecāko Baltijā un 19. gadsimta sākumā bija viens no ievērojamākajiem Krievijā. Kopš 1992. gada Baldones sanatorija savu saimniecisko darbību ir apturējusi. Šobrīd minerālavoti netiek izmantoti, bet sanatorijas apbūvei nepieciešama nopietna restaurācija un pārbūve
