Abstract (latvian):

Lektorijs "Viļņi: skenēšana" ir pirmais 8. starptautiskā festivāla "Māksla + Komunikācijas 2006: Viļņi" ievadprogrammas pasākums, kas iepazīstina ar vienu no visaktuālākajām elektromagnētisko "viļņu" izpētes un radošo eksperimentu jomām – radiofrekvenču skenēšanu. Ar savu radošo darbību šajā jomā uzaicināts iepazīstināt viens no pazīstamākajiem skaņu māksliniekiem Scanner – a.k.a. Robin Rimbaud (Londona). Savukārt festivāla izstādes vieskurators Armin Medosch (Londona) iepazīstina ar "Viļņu" koncepciju un mākslinieku radošajiem eksperimentiem elektromagnētiskajā spektrā. Lektoriju noslēdz britu skaņu mākslinieka Scanner (Robin Rimbaud) un latviešu mūziķu - radio skenēšanas Clausthome (Lauris Vorslavs, Ģirts Radziņš) performances.

Abstract (english):

Lecture and performance session "Waves: Scanning" is the first intro-project of the next "Art+Communication: Waves" festival. It will focus on one of the most current domains in the research and creative experiments on electromagnetic waves - scanning of the radio frequencies. Since more than 100 years, electromagnetic waves have been used for communications - from the wireless telegraph, radio and television to satellites, mobile phones and wireless technologies.International exhibition "Waves" that will take place in Riga in 2006, celebrating the 10th anniversary of International festival "Art + Communications", will reveal the rich traditions of the use of waves as a material and media in art and on the phenomena of waves as universal principle.
