- Lielstraupes pils celta 13. gadsimta beigās romāņu stilā reizē ar baznīcu, bet šodienas izskatu tā iegūst 18. gadsimtā. Baznīca pils dienvidu spārnā ir bez torņa — tagadējais zvanu tornis celts 1848. gadā un atrodas 100 metrus no baznīcas. Pilī ar pārtraukumiem valdījusi fon Rozenu dzimta. Kopš 1963. gada pilī darbojas Straupes narkoloģiskā slimnīca.
