- Abstract (latvian):
- Ventspils ostas priekšostu veido divi jūrā no krasta izbūvēti moli, kas aizsargā ostas vārtus no piesērēšanas. Bez moliem vējš un viļņi to piedzītu ar smiltīm. Ziemeļu mols ir 2059 m, Dienvidu mols- 1487, 85 m garš. Dienvidu molu izbūvē pēc 19.gadsimta 90.gados izstrādāta projekta, kura autors ir inženieris Mečislavs Šistovskis. Abus molus pabeidz 1905.gada 5.jūlijā. No 2001.gada tiek atklāta piebrauktuve Dienvidu molam. Mols kļūst par pastaigu vietu un skatu platformu no kurienes var vērot jūru
