Violeta Černiauskaitė, senior researcher and expert from the Librarianship and Bibliography Research Unit of the Information and Communication Sciences Department, the Martynas Mažvydas National Library, shared experiences on "Terminology Development for Metadata to Digital Collections at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania". Digitisation activities are coordinated by national, regional, and sectoral competence centres in digitisation. Terminological data are necessary to create high-quality resource descriptions using widely shared metadata standards, vocabularies, and elements commonly needed for digital collections. Černiauskaitė explored the impact of digitisation on professional terminology in cultural heritage institutions and concluded that terminological data created and developed in libraries are essential not only for librarians.
