- Two representatives from the University of Latvia, Faculty of Library Science and Information, associated professor Baiba Holma and assistant professor Daina Pakalna, introduced conference attendees to a study on the appearance of new terms in the Library and Information Science terminology in the context of KOS in the semantic web. Presenters also analysed the inclusion of new terms in the system of terms in Latvian. In the presentation "Interoperability of Knowledge Organization Systems in the Semantic Web. Aspect of Terminology", they analysed publications in English and Latvian from the last five years on issues of knowledge organisation systems. 124 keywords retrieved from the selected 27 articles were grouped into ten sets of terms. Based on the data analysis, it was concluded that there is still much work to be done on terminology in the Latvian language in this field.
