- Maģistra darba mērķis ir atklāt nabadzības diskursa konstrukciju un tā saturu Latvijas presē 20. gs. 20. gados un 30. gadu sākumā. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkots nabadzības kā sociālās stratifikācijas prakses jēdziens, kuras ietvaros tiek raksturota sociālās stratifikācijas izcelsme un realizācijas veidi, tiek izskaidrota sociālās šķiras koncepts, nabadzības fenomens un tā izcelsme, kā arī nabadzības stigmatizācija kā marginalizējoša stratēģija un nabadzības atainojuma medijos raksturojums. Tiek raksturots diskursa teorētiskais koncepts, nabadzības diskursa formēšana un citādoša diskursa ietvaros. Empīriskajā daļā pēc R. Vodakas (Ruth Wodak) un M. Rīsigla (Martin Reisigl) piedāvātās diskursa vēsturiskās metodes (discourse-historical approach) un kontentanalīzes tiek veikts Latvijas preses publikāciju nabadzības diskursa satura pētījums 20. gs. 20. gados un 30. gadu sākumā. Empīriskā pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, ka laikrakstu publikāciju ietvaros identificētais nabadzības diskursa saturs un tā tematika nabadzību pozicionē kā sociālu problēmu, kuras eksistence ir nosodāma un nevēlama. Plaši identificējami vēstījumi, kuros raksturoti dažādi līdzekļi, kas izmantojami nabadzības fenomena problēmas izskaušanā, piemēram, labdarība, sociālā apgāde u.tml., tādējādi nostiprinot nabadzības kā nevēlamas problēmas un novēršamas parādības konstrukciju publikācijās Latvijas presē 20. gs. 20. gados un 30. gadu sākuma periodā.
- Abstract (english):
- The objective of the research is to portrait the construction and the content of the discourse of poverty in Latvian newspapers in the twenties and early thirties of the 20th century. The theoretical part discusses poverty as the concept of social stratification praxis, seeks for the origin and realization forms of social stratification, defines the concept of social class and the phenomenon of poverty and its origin, as well as stigmatization as marginal strategy and describes the reflection of poverty in the media. It reflects theoretical conception of discourse, formation of discourse of poverty and diversification in discourse. Empirical part, based on the discourse-historical approach developed by Ruth Wodak and Martin Reisigl and content-analysis, consists of research on the content of the discourse of poverty in Latvian newspapers in the twenties and early thirties of the 20th century. The results of the empirical study conclude that the content and subject-matter of the discourse of poverty identified in the newspaper publications reflect poverty as a social problem existence of which is unwanted and to be condemned. Articles on different means of elimination of poverty such as charity and social care among others are common in newspaper publications content of the discourse of poverty in Latvian newspapers in the twenties and early thirties of the 20th century thus strengthening construction of concept of poverty as undesirable and eliminative problem.
