faktoriem. Augstāko uzticības līmeni demonstrēja Lancôme (Francija) un Laneige
(Dienvidkoreja), trešajā vietā – Latvijas zīmols MADARA. Patērētāji ir gatavi maksāt
piemaksu līdz 40 % par uzticamu zīmolu.

Master’s thesis author: Student of the Professional Master’s Study Programme
“Business Administration”, Ventspils University of Applied Sciences, DarjaVasiljeva.
Hypothesis: Brand trust in the skincare cosmetics market is significantly influenced by
the country-of-origin image and reputation, which in turn affects consumer choice.
Aim: To evaluate the impact of the country-of-origin effect on consumer trust and
choice in the facial skincare segment.
Tasks: to analyse theoretical literature, to examine global and Latvian cosmetics
market trends, to conduct a consumer survey (132 respondents) and expert evaluation in
the moisturising face cream segment, and to develop a brand trust assessment model.
Methods: scientific literature analysis, statistical data analysis, online survey, expert
evaluation (5 influencers), quantitative factor weighting and comparative analysis.
Author’s contribution: developed and empirically tested a brand trust evaluation
model for the moisturising face cream segment that integrates country-of-origin effect,
personal experience and social factors.
The thesis consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusions and appendices. The
first chapter covers theoretical aspects, the second – market overview, the third –
empirical research.
Main results: Brand trust is one of the key factors in consumer choice. The highest
trust levels were demonstrated by Lancôme (France) and Laneige (South Korea), with
the Latvian brand MADARA ranking third. Consumers are willing to pay a premium of
up to 40 % for a trusted brand.
Thesis: 52 pages, 24 figures, 21 tables, 2 appendices, 70 references.
