- Information literacy and financial literacy are critical for the empowerment of women in civic society. One of the main challenges of the present information society is the ability to access and utilize information for personal and professional development, self reliance, and lifelong learning. In this paper, we discuss trends, issues, roles, importance and challenges of information literacy and financial literacy within civic literacy by citing Kenyan examples.
