- Bakalaura darba izstrāde balstās pētījumā par Latvijas igauņiem, pievēršoties Ludzas igauņiem un Lejasciema leiviem – senākām Latvijas igauņu kopienām, nevis mūsdienu igauņu minoritātei Latvijā, kas neveido kompakti dzīvojošu un nosacīti noslēgtu etnisko grupu. Izvēles aktualitāti pamato fakts, ka gan Ludzas igauņu, gan Lejasciema leivu izpētes vēsturē trūkst apkopojoša pētījuma, kas atspoguļotu kopainu, ietverot dažādās hipotēzes un pētījumus par šīm etniskajām grupām. Tāpēc bakalaura darba mērķis ir izveidot sistematizāciju, apkopojot informatīvos materiālus par šo somugru grupu rašanās vai ieceļošanas cēloņiem un laiku, valodisko piederību somugru valodu kontekstā, šo abu grupu valodas kopīgajām un atšķirīgajām iezīmēm, kā arī attiecībām ar dienvidigauņu dialektu un ietekmi uz baltu valodām un kultūrtelpu. Tāpat tiek apkopoti dati par etnogrāfiskajiem un folkloras materiāliem, kā arī arheoloģijas pētījumi par šo etnisko kopienu kultūrtelpas norisēm un izmaiņām. Turklāt uzmanība tiek pievērsta arī šo igauņu grupu asimilēšanās procesam.
- Abstract (english):
- The aim of the bachelor thesis „Estonians of Latvia: Estonians of Ludza and Leivi of Lejasciems” was to aggregate the different views and hypotheses concerning the Estonians of Ludza and the Leivi of Lejasciems, to systematize and analyze them in order to create a complete picture of different views, opinions and fields of research. Moreover, this research was carried out to widen the knowledge about the Estonians of Ludza and Leivi of Lejasciems and to investigate the family history. The outcome of this course paper enlightens the overall characteristics of both of these Estonian groups. The author analyzed their language and its liaisons with the Southestonian dialect group and also the ethnographic and folklore materials available nowadays. Attention was brought also to the archeological materials from these territories showing no signs of Finno-Ugric traditions in these territoties after the 8th sectury. This thesis was also dedicated to different views on the origin of the Estonians of Ludza and Leivi of Lejasciems which lead to the conclusion that there are two main hypothesis one of them regarding these Estonian groups as unassimilated ancestors of the ancient Finno-Ugric groups living in the teritory of Latvia and the other regarding them as later imigrants from the South Estonia. The bachelor thesis also regarded the process of the assimilation of the Estonians of Ludza and Leivi of Lejasciems leading to the conclusion that nowadays there are no living ancestors of these groups that would identify themselves with the ethnos of Estonians.
