Mental arithmetic skills are important in everyday life and professional
activities, but traditional methods of training mental arithmetic in primary school do
not always motivate students enough. Modern digital technologies allow making
training more interactive and engaging.
This thesis presents a prototype of a digital tool for mental arithmetic training
for primary school students – the “Skaitrixa” platform. The platform provides an
interactive environment in which students complete arithmetic tasks of various
difficulty levels, teachers create tests for classes, and administrators manage system
data.
Technologies such as TypeScript, React, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and the Supabase
platform were used in the development. Multi-level prototype testing was also
performed.
The developed platform is functional and implements all core requirements.
Functionality for three user roles has been implemented. Some additional requirements,
such as the ability for the teacher to review the results of students’ tests, have been
defined as directions for further development.
