Abstract (latvian):

19. un 20. gadsimta miju pasaules vēsturē iezīmē straujas un dziļas pārmaiņas, kuras vēsturiski pieņemts saukt par modernizācijas procesiem. Modernizācijas aizsākums meklējams jau 17. gadsimtā, tomēr 19. u n 20. gadsimtā ar modernizāciju saistītie procesi turpināja savu attīstības gaitu. Šajā laikā notiekošie procesi būtiski ietekmēja cilvēku dzīvi un turpmāku cilvēces attīstību. Piemēram, 19. gadsimtā izgudrotie telegrāfa aparāti un telefons ievērojami paplašināja iespējas sazināties un cilvēkos radīja vienotas pasaules telpas izjūtu, savukārt automašīnas, lidmašīnas un citu transportlīdzekļu attīstība ļāva neticami ātri pārvarēt lielus attālumus. Straujās pārmaiņas liek raisīties pārdomām par to, kā tās uztvēra tālaika cilvēks? Vai ar modernizāciju saistītie procesi tika uztverta kā pozitīva vai negatīva pārmaiņa? Daudzi, iespējams, pat neapzinājās, ka dzīvo uz jaunas modernas pasaules iestāšanās sliekšņa. Tehnoloģiju attīstība un citi sasniegumi , it kā klauvēja pie jauna laikmeta durvīm, pie laikmeta, kurā dzīvojam mūsdienās.

Abstract (english):

The turn of the 19th and the 20th centuries was a period of history marked by profound change and development. Historically these changes are called the processes of modernization. It is very possible that in the world’s history any other generation has n ot experienced such significant changes as were these. The question then naturally arises how people reacted to these processes. Were they perceived positively or negatively? Since the cinema was invented at the time, we have today an opportunity to look f or the answers in the early cinema films. The main purpose of the bachelor paperwork The processes of modernization of the turn of the 19 th and the 20 th centuries reflection in the early French cinema is to investigate how these processes are reflected in the early French cinema. The work provides reader also with the information about the processes of modernization of the turn of the 19 th and 20 th centuries, their importance and impact on the society and culture, as well as about the early French cinema directors and companies. Findings of the research show that the reflection of the modernization processes in the early French cinema is not very abundant. Nevertheless, directors have used some of the p rocesses, such as technological and transportation development, quite often. Films, where the processes are reflected, are mostly positive and humorous, which means that towards one part of the changes in general directors had a positive attitude.

Le tournant du 19e au 20e siècle est marqué par un développement rapide et par de profonds changements, qui ont considérablement influencé la vie des gens. Aujourd'hui, ces changements sont appelés les processus de modernisation. La question qui se pose alors naturellement est : comment les personnes ont - ils réagi à ces processus. Se s changements ont - ils été perçus positivement ou négativement ? J’ai tout particulièrement axé ma réflexion sur le cinéma puisqu’ il fut crée à cette époque. L’objectif principal du mémoire qui s’intitule: La réflexion de processus de modernisation du tour nant du 19 e au 20 e siècle aux débuts du cinéma français ( The processes of modernization of the turn of the 19 th and the 20 th centuries reflection in the early French cinema ) est d’examiner comment ces processus se sont répercutés aux débuts du cinéma français. Le mémoire donne également des informations sur les processus de modernisation mis en œuvre a l’époque concerné, leurs impact sur la société et la culture ainsi que sur le cinéaste Georges Méliès et sur les sociétés – Pathé Frères et Gaumont . Les résultats de la recherche montrent que la réflexion de processus de modernisation au cinéma n’est pas très présente , cependant les cinéastes ont assez souvent utilisé certains des processus tels que le développement des technologies et du transport. Les films, où les processus sont reflétés, sont principalement positifs et pleins d’humour, ce qui signifie que malgré les profonds changements , les cinéastes avaient une attitude positive envers ce grand tournant
